Due to their incredible versatility, your need of substrates, papers and laminates will probably be limited to surface printed heavyweight, coated paper mounted to foamboard or sintra with our semi-gloss laminate. However, if you require specialty products for a wide array of finished results, we have listed and described below just a few of the unique materials that are offered by Morris Brothers.

Substrates
SINTRA - A lightweight but rigid, moderately expanded plastic board ideal for indoor or outdoor applications. A major benefit of Sintra over foamboard is that it is durable as well as being lightweight. Its closed-cell structure inhibits moisture absorption, with thicker gauges suitable for outdoor use. Sintra material is available in a wide range of thicknesses, from 1mm to 19mm, and various sheet sizes. It is also available in a wide range of colors when the surface is not used for mounting printed material. Sintra material is homogeneous throughout –– color and cell density are evenly distributed throughout the thickness of the board. This material also can be painted as well as screen-printed, and vinyl graphics can be applied. Sintra, also known as foam PVC sheet, is an extremely versatile material suitable for a wide range of internal and external applications.

Typical applications: Short-term signage, point of sale displays, exhibition stands, photo-mounting, screen printing and sign printing.

FOAMBOARD - The most versatile and best value for your signage. Foamboard is a lightweight material with high density and good rigidity, allowing clean, even cuts for sharp, crisp edges. With good foam memory, it resists dents but is not immune to them with rough handling. Foamboard comes in various combinations of white or black surface liner and core color. Some versions can be screen-printed and painted with excellent results, and allow application of vinyl graphics. It can be mounted using hot, cold or vacuum mounting techniques. This inexpensive product offers excellent value for its intended applications, primarily interior and short-term use.

Key applications for the product include interior signage, digital printing, POP displays, exhibit and kiosk construction, and other display uses. The product can be finished and fabricated easily in a variety of ways with typical shop tools. It can be painted, printed and screen-printed. The material is effective with vinyl letters. Photo mounting can be accomplished with cold mounting techniques.

KAPA BLOC - Although similar to foamboard in weight and closely similar to Gator board in rigidity, Kapa board's surface is much more rigid and impermeable to dents, dings and tears. There is the ability to use adhesives and solvent-based lacquer or paint that might damage boards with traditional polystyrene foam core. Some other benefits of Kapa material are; cutting with knife or sawing with blade, excellent routing capabilities, punching or die cutting in 5mm, heat resistance for hot-mount laminating and surface color integrity and good printing surface.

Colors of white or black are available, depending on thickness, which ranges from 3/16", 1/2", to 3/4". Material can be spray painted as well as printed, and vinyl graphics may be applied.

ACRYLIC SHEETING - Better known by name brands such as Plexiglass, Acrylite, Chemcast, etc. Acrylic plastic offers weather resistance, durability and is an excellent substitute for glass, acetate, polycarbonate or PVC when one is looking for transparency or translucency. It is half the weight of glass and 45% the weight of aluminum. Acrylic sheeting is also essential for proper light diffusion. Translucent white and colored sheets diffuse light and are excellent for use as lighting lenses or to create special effects in signs. Offered in multiple densities, translucent white acrylic sheeting is available in several thicknesses varying in light transmittance from 11% to 67%.

Transparent colors have the same light transmittance in all thicknesses; whereas, white translucence sheeting varies in light transmittance becoming more opaque with thickness. For example, 7328 white is more dense in .177" than 118".

Acrylic sheeting is available in hundreds of colors, opacities, thicknesses, sizes and finishes.

Laminates
Thermashield "R" Films - Laminates are essential for all of your inkjet or reprographic projects. Our gloss laminate both protects your graphic and enhances its colors while at the same time enhancing its colors with a crisp, high-polished finish that sharpens hues and creates a brilliant visual impact. Or, get that softening effect that diminishes reflections and glare while hiding imperfections with our Thermashild "R" Matte laminate. Our matte laminate is appropriate for graphic locations where harsh lighting or photographs where harsh or high intensity lighting will be used.

Printing Materials
BACKLIT FILM - If you are looking for bright vivid color to create long-lasting Duratrans-like images, then you'll want our HP Colorlucent Backlit UV material. Mounted to translucent acrylic sheeting, this durable, translucent, rear-print film delivers sharp, photo-quality. Used exclusively with our HP Designjet CP Ink System UV for brilliant moisture-, smear-, scratch-, and fade-resistant images that can be displayed in a light box for up to 5 years indoors or 2 years outdoors. Produces bright, photo-quality backlit graphics for indoor or outdoor light boxes. Fade, moisture, smear, and scratch resistant.

HEAVYWEIGHT PAPER - Our Heavyweight coated paper is the most cost-effective large-format printing material that will compliment your graphic with superb color and visual vividness. This material is ideal for printing displays, indoor signs and all non-backlit presentations. This material is extremely versatile with a full 50" printing width. The extra thickness of our heavyweight paper improves durability, handling and ink absorbency, especially for signs and posters that will be frequently changed.

PHOTO PAPER - If photo quality digital output is required for your project, then you'll be interested in our HP High-gloss Photo Paper CP. It is ideal for design professionals who want brilliant, photo-quality, large-format color prints with a glossy finish. HP High-gloss Photo Paper CP is designed for exceptional bleed control and high resolution for sharp characters. Engineered to work with our HP inks for ultra-accurate color reproduction. Excellent indoor light fastness provides longer-lasting images.

BANNER SCRIM - Our scrim banner material is a 380 micron, matte opaque PVC banner material. This product, designed for our HP large-format inkjet printers, consists of a tear-resistant polyester fabric embedded between two white vinyl layers. It is ideal for indoor and outdoor applications, thanks to a special ink-receptive coating that makes the media water-resistant while still allowing it to produce brilliant colors and edge definition. When used with dye inks or pigmented inks, images are brilliant and well saturated, making this media ideal for banners and signage in both indoor and outdoor advertising. The tear resistance of this material makes it suitable for hanging by rope, pole or tie wraps, in those hard to hang areas.
